American Cancer Society
The American Cancer Society is the nationwide
community-based voluntary health organization dedicated to eliminating cancer as a major health problem by preventing cancer,
saving lives, and diminishing suffering from cancer, through research, education, advocacy,
and service.
The Charity Runner program is the American Cancer Society's signature endurance event program that enables athletes to dedicate their training and participation in long-distance races to the fight against cancer. The Charity Runner program has helped more than 3,800 athletes across the nation accomplish their goal of completing a marathon, half-marathon, or triathlon while raising more than $4.6 million to support the American Cancer Society’s mission to eliminate cancer as a life-threatening disease. Dollars raised through Charity Runner help the Society fund groundbreaking cancer research, provide up-to-date cancer information and education, advocate for public policies that benefit the community, and provide services that improve the quality of life for patients and their families. For more information on how you can make your miles more meaningful with the Charity Runner program please contact: Karee Boone at karee.boone@cancer.org or 206-674-4105 or visit www.seattlecharityrunner.org.
