Team Survivor Northwest - Join the TeamIf crossing the finish line after running or walking 26.2 miles or 13.1 miles while helping cancer survivors reclaim their future is something you’ve always wanted to accomplish, then Team Survivor Northwest’s Marathon/Half Marathon Training Program is for you. Team Survivor Northwest offers runners and walkers the opportunity to take on the challenge of the Amica Insurance Seattle Marathon or Half Marathon on November 30, 2008 and make a difference in the lives of the more than 16,000 women diagnosed with cancer each year in Washington State. Team Survivor Northwest will provide you with the experience of a lifetime, including:
Along with a customized-training program and expert coaching, participants will train with a local group of like-minded individuals for motivation and inspiration. Our athletes have walked away with new friends, amazing accomplishments and the sense that they did something even more important than getting in good shape. In exchange for training and support, you help raise money towards local fitness and wellness programs for cancer survivors. How important is fitness for a cancer survivor? Medical research has shown the fitness post diagnosis is vital to survivorship. Exercise has been shown to increase both the quality and quantity of life. As Cancer Survivor Evelyn said, “It is through the fitness, friendship and fun of these programs that I take back my life. Thank you Team Survivor Northwest for helping me LIVE.” To find out more about how you can achieve your fitness goals and help survivors at the same time, contact Team Survivor Northwest at (206)732-8350 or email us at info@teamsurvivornw.org or go to www.tsnw.org. |
