VOLUNTEER

Thank You!

We would like to send out a heart-felt thanks to all of the wonderful volunteers who donated their time and support to help make the 2011 Seattle Marathon Family of Events happen. You showed up and worked hard. There was a wonderful mix of new volunteers and “veterans,” and a great collection of groups and teams representing local organizations, schools, colleges and families. We have received some wonderful reviews about many of you this year from your coordinators, from spectators and from the participants.

Thank you all.

We would also like to give a special thank you to Trevor Stokes and his enthusiastic team of students from the Streetfront Alternative Program who came down from Vancouver, BC to volunteer and run in the marathon on Sunday.

If you missed your chance to volunteer for the 2011 Amica Insurance Seattle Marathon (or if you were scared off by the November weather), never fear, there is always August!

Volunteer registration for the Seattle Marathon 10K event presented by Seattle CenterNext 50 in August 2012 will be open very soon. Check back for more details.

"Being a volunteer for the Seattle Marathon Association is a thrilling and rewarding experience. You have the opportunity to be right down in the mix of all the participants, the hustle and bustle of the city, as well as the exciting emotions that come with being a part of such an exhilarating local community venue. Taking the time to be involved in the community over Thanksgiving weekend is a perfect cap to a great holiday. Do what you can to be involved, and don't hesitate to volunteer. Your patronage will ensure that the marathon will continue to be a community success."
