I am so excited to be a Seattle Marathon ambassador! Believe it or not, I have not always been a runner. In 2011, I stood on the sidelines of a marathon cheering on some friends. At the time, I believed the limiting belief that "this body doesn't run". I, however, became so inspired seeing all of the different runners (varying ages, body types, and paces) that I began to say, "Why not me!"
The next day I went out for my first run and made it one block. Slowly but surely, I continued training and in 2012, I crossed my first marathon finish line (the same race I spectated at in 2011)! I went from zero miles to 26.2 miles in less than a year and "runstrongrun" was born!
Since then, it’s been my joy to encourage other first-time marathoners and help pace runners to the finish line. Most commonly, you'll find me pacing the rockstar 6-hour marathon finish time group. I love advocating for the "back of the pack" runners and loudly proclaiming, "All runners count!"
In 2023, I have a goal of running 12 full marathons. The Seattle Marathon 2023 will be my 35th lifetime marathon and marathon number 11 of 2023! I can't wait to see you on the course at the Seattle Marathon!
