THE SPORTS INSTITUTE AT UW MEDICINE
This collaboration unites two programs - The Daily Mile™, an initiative of The Sports Institute in Washington state elementary schools, and the Seattle Kids Marathon - to help kids and families stay active during the school year.
The Daily Mile is a free, social physical activity, with children running or jogging – at their own pace – outside with friends for 15 minutes a day. The aim of The Sports Institute in implementing The Daily Mile is to improve the physical, social, emotional and mental health and wellbeing of all children – regardless of their age, ability or personal circumstances.
The Sports Institute at UW Medicine is a proud partner of the Seattle Kids Marathon. If your child’s class participates in The Daily Mile, an initiative of The Sports Institute, they may register for the Kids Marathon at a discounted rate. Learn more about The Daily Mile and talk to your child’s teacher about implementing the program in their school.
