I live in Seattle, Washington and have been running for almost 20 years now. I am very passionate about the sport. This is my third year as a Seattle Marathon Ambassador. In this program I can share my love for running and help create an inclusive environment in which everyone feels like they can participate.
Since then I have run many additional half marathons, 5Ks, 10Ks and 7 marathons. The first marathon I ran was the 2015 Seattle Marathon. I will always remember that morning; it was cold and frosty outside and I wasn’t really sure what to expect from myself or from the course. It was difficult, but I finished in 4:13:23, and I have never been more proud of myself. I have since run 6 additional marathons and qualified for Boston with several of those runs. I will run the Boston Marathon this year for the third year in a row and I am very excited! I also am registered to run this year’s New York Marathon! It is my goal to eventually run all six World Marathon Majors. Additionally, I am a member of 2 running groups, the Oiselle Volee WA chapter and the Seattle Green Lake Running Group.
I am excited for this year. I had foot surgery on October 30, 2019 and had to take almost three months off of running. I am still in the phase of rebuilding my lost fitness, but I am hopeful that it will be a great year for running!

When I first started running, I ran short distances and I ran on the treadmill a lot; it took a while for me to gain confidence in myself and in my running abilities. Then about 8 years ago, I ran my first half marathon. I registered for the Rock N’ Roll Portland Half Marathon in 2012, and not only did I finish, but I finished in less than 2 hours!
