My name is Tony Gross, but I also go by La Macchina. I didn’t start running until June 2013. My best friend Adam back in New Orleans invited me to the local running club for a summer 2 mile run. I showed up in a pair of basketball shorts, gold Nike basketball shoes, and a shirt. It was hot and not great, I ran the two miles in 25 minutes. It wasn’t my best running effort, but the best thing happened; I went back two weeks later without him. Then two weeks later, again. I became pretty obsessed with this running thing.
Fast forward 7 years later, I am now 37 years old and I live outside of Seattle. I am an avid runner. That 25 minute two mile run is now down to a sub 13. A 5k is down to a sub 21. Along that journey I made so many friends in the running community. I have completed 4 full marathons, 6 half marathons, and numerous 5k and 10ks.
I look forward to seeing you out there.
