Will there be pacers?Yes. Seattle Marathon & Half Marathon: The Seattle Green Lake Running Group will be our pacers this year for the Full and Half Marathon. They will be providing pacers for a Half Marathon finish time of 1:30, 1:35, 1:45, 1:50, 2:00, 2:05, 2:15, 2:20, 2:30 and 2:50. Full Marathon pacers will be provided for finish times of 3:00, 3:05, 3:10, 3:20, 3:25, 3:30, 3:35, 3:40, 3:50, 3:55, 4:05, 4:20, 5:00, 5:30, 6:00. Yes. Can I bring my MP3 player?The use of headsets is highly discouraged but not outright prohibited at our events. As a member of the Road Runners Club of America (RRCA), we follow their guidelines on headset use. RRCA does not encourage headphone use during its member races but does not disallow them as long as they are used safely. For this reason, if you choose to use a headset on the course, you may be asked by a course official to remove them for safety reasons. You are required to comply or face disqualification and removal from the course.

Can I bring my bike/skates/skateboard?No. No wheels are allowed on the course except for registered wheelchairs and official course vehicles.

Can I bring my baby in a stroller/jogger?For the Summer 5K/10K, strollers are allowed and respectfully asked to start in the back of the queue for safety reasons. For the Marathon/Half Marathon, strollers are discouraged, but may be permitted to start in the back of the queue for safety reasons.

Can I bring my dog?For the Summer Events, dogs on leashes are allowed. Owners are responsible for any incidents involving their dogs. For the Marathon & Half Marathon, dogs are not allowed.

Can I bring my hydration vest?Yes. Hydration vests are allowed at all of our events.

Can I bring my Nordic Walking Stick?Yes. Participants of the Marathon Walk and Half Marathon Walk are welcome to use walking sticks; however, please be courteous and mindful of participants around you.

Will the Boston Marathon check to confirm my time?Yes. They will use the finisher list we provide them to check the time you put on your Boston Marathon registration form. Results reported from virtual events cannot qualify for the Boston Marathon.

Can the Seattle Marathon be used as a Boston Qualifier?Yes. The Boston Marathon accepts qualifying times from the Seattle Marathon. For a list of qualifying times, see the Boston Athletic Association website. We will send a complete list of finishers to the BAA within a couple weeks after the race. Please keep in mind that the timing of available results of the Seattle Marathon and open registration for the Boston Marathon will influence which year you are eligible to apply for the Boston Marathon. Results reported from virtual events cannot qualify for the Boston Marathon.

What awards will be given out?Marathon/Half Marathon: All finishers will receive a medal corresponding to their race (full/half marathon). The top 3 overall men, women, and non-binary participants will receive non-cash prize packages at the finish line. This applies to in-person races only.​ The top Masters Man, Woman, Non-Binary and the top three active military men, women and non-binary will be given non-cash awards. These awards will be mailed or emailed in the weeks following the race. This applies to in-person races only.​ Top 10 Age Division Awards in 5-year age groupings will be given. Age divisions are as follows: 19 and under, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, 80-84, and 85 and over. Do you offer prize money?No: Marathon/Half Marathon​ Yes: Summer 5k, 10k & Half Marathon To be eligible for awards runners must finish faster than the following prize cutoff times: Top 3 Overall: 5k: 25:00 Top 3 Overall: 10K: 45:00 Top 3 Overall: Half Marathon 1:30 Student athletes are not eligible for cash awards. When will I get my age division award?Awards will be mailed out 3-6 weeks after the event.

Do you give awards to walkers?All walkers will receive the same finisher medal as registered runners. However, walking events are non-competitive and are not eligible for other awards. Registered walkers will still be timed.

Are miles and kilometers marked on the course?Marathon: Yes. Mile markers are placed on each course (either on portable toilets or on stand-alone signs. Select kilometer signs are not placed on the course this year. Summer 5k, 10k & Half Marathon: Mile markers only are placed on the course.

How long is the course open?The Marathon & Half Marathon event routes will be opened to vehicle traffic at 2:30pm. You may still finish the race by obeying all normal traffic laws for pedestrians after the course is opened to vehicle traffic, however there will be limited on-course aid stations, Course Marshals and police support at that point. Finish Line staff and essential services will remain until every athlete has completed the event. The Seattle Kids Marathon course will remain open and supported until all participants cross the finish line. The Summer 5k/10k/Half Marathon and Kids Fun Run courses will remain open until the last runner crosses the finish line.

What about parking?Marathon – Parking at Seattle Center: Here, Street Parking: You may be able to find some street parking in the Queen Anne area north of the Seattle Center. Summer Events: Limited parking is available in the lower lot of Seward Park near the start line. Additional parking is available in the upper lot a short walk from the start line.

Are there buses/shuttles?Marathon: The Seattle Marathon Association does not provide shuttle service to/from the start/finish. Metro Transit may provide bus service. See their website for details. What should I wear during the Run/Walk?Breathable clothing such as Polypropylene and Coolmax are materials that wick away moisture and keep you at a comfortable temperature. Avoid cotton. Be aware that long runs may cause chafing. Wear appropriate clothing.

What is the weather going to be like?For the Summer 5K/10K/Kids Fun Run, historically, late August weather in Seattle is sunny and in the mid-70s. For the Marathon, historically, late fall weather in Seattle is cloudy but calm with temperatures in the low to mid 40s. Always expect rain.

What is the Charity Partner Program? How can I make a donation to a Charity Partner?Participants have an option to donate to the Charity Partner of their choice via their donation link on our Charity Partner's page. Where can I put clothing for after the race?For the Summer Events, there will be a bag check tent near the registration area. For the Marathon & Half Marathon, there will be an area for checking clothing near the start/finish line. Details coming soon.

Do I get a shirt with my race entry or do I have to pay extra for it?Included: Registration to any of our events includes a participant shirt. Full/Half marathon: long-sleeved technical fabric shirt picked up at EXPO. Seattle Kids Marathon: short-sleeved cotton blend shirt picked up at EXPO or with race packet. What is a Virtual Race?A Virtual Race is a distance event that you run and time on your own. Typically, you'll choose your distance, your route and your race date and report your results through your Race Roster account. Virtual Race participants receive finisher medals, race souvenirs, course suggestions and other training supports, but do not receive official times, certified courses or day-of-race support.

What is the difference between running and walking events?All registrants may both run and/or walk as much as they’d like regardless of which race they are registered in. All registrants will receive an official time. However, only those registered as runners are eligible for awards.

What is the online registration processing fee for?The processing fee is collected by our registration platform and covers their costs of operation and the credit card transaction cost.

What happens if the race is cancelled?The Race Organizer reserves the right to cancel or reschedule the Race should there be any Force Majeure (as defined below) conditions that arise. In the event of Race cancellation and/or rescheduling due to the Force Majeure, the Race Organizer has no obligation to refund the paid entry fees to the Participants, and shall not be held responsible for any Risks and Hazards that might happen due to the Race cancellation and/or reschedule. Please note that Force Majeure refers to circumstances or conditions such as war (whether stated or not), violence, social unrest, strikes, outbreaks, accidents, fires, floods, natural disasters, embargoes, legal reasons, or the actions of the government, and other similar events which may occur in the future, in which the Race Organizer has no ability to prevent. Events will take place rain or shine.

Can I make changes to my registration after I register?Yes. From your Race Roster account, you can edit your registration and update your name, contact information, date of birth, address, gender, estimated finish time, participant shirt size, etc. If applicable, changing event category, or transferring can also be done in your Race Roster account.

Where are the split times recorded along the course?Split times are only recorded for the Seattle Marathon and Half Marathon. Split time information will be updated as available on the marathon page.

How are the races being timed?All timed events will be timed using embedded tag technology. Each participant is given a special, unique transponder that will be used to record your start and finish time. This disposable timing device is incorporated into each race bib and does not need to be returned after the race. All results are based on net/actual time (not gun time, as previously practiced). Each participant's time will start when they cross the start line. Split times on the marathon and half marathon courses will be also be recorded. In order to receive an accurate time, please confirm that throughout the race your bib is: Clearly visible on the front of the torso Unaltered and unmodified — Do not fold or wrinkle Pinned in all four corners Not covered by jackets, belts, water bottles, etc. Please note that kids races are un-timed. Virtual races are self-timed. You may use a tracking app, a watch or other timing method to record your time. Then use your Race Roster account to report your results.

May I use my Champion Chip?No. This race is timed using timing tags incorporated into each bib. The two systems are not compatible.

How long is the course open?The Marathon & Half Marathon event routes will be opened to vehicle traffic at 2:30pm. You may still finish the race by obeying all normal traffic laws for pedestrians after the course is opened to vehicle traffic, however there will be limited on-course aid stations, Course Marshals and police support at that point. Finish Line staff and essential services will remain until every athlete has completed the event. The Seattle Kids Marathon course will remain open and supported until all participants cross the finish line. The Summer 5k/10k/Half Marathon and Kids Fun Run courses will remain open until the last runner crosses the finish line.

What is a Virtual Race?A Virtual Race is a distance event that you run and time on your own. Typically, you'll choose your distance, your route and your race date and report your results through your Race Roster account. Virtual Race participants receive finisher medals, race souvenirs, course suggestions and other training supports, but do not receive official times, certified courses or day-of-race support.

What is the difference between running and walking events?All registrants may both run and/or walk as much as they’d like regardless of which race they are registered in. All registrants will receive an official time. However, only those registered as runners are eligible for awards.

What is the online registration processing fee for?The processing fee is collected by our registration platform and covers their costs of operation and the credit card transaction cost.

What happens if the race is cancelled?The Race Organizer reserves the right to cancel or reschedule the Race should there be any Force Majeure (as defined below) conditions that arise. In the event of Race cancellation and/or rescheduling due to the Force Majeure, the Race Organizer has no obligation to refund the paid entry fees to the Participants, and shall not be held responsible for any Risks and Hazards that might happen due to the Race cancellation and/or reschedule. Please note that Force Majeure refers to circumstances or conditions such as war (whether stated or not), violence, social unrest, strikes, outbreaks, accidents, fires, floods, natural disasters, embargoes, legal reasons, or the actions of the government, and other similar events which may occur in the future, in which the Race Organizer has no ability to prevent. Events will take place rain or shine.

Can I make changes to my registration after I register?Yes. From your Race Roster account, you can edit your registration and update your name, contact information, date of birth, address, gender, estimated finish time, participant shirt size, etc. If applicable, changing event category, or transferring can also be done in your Race Roster account.

Where are the split times recorded along the course?Split times are only recorded for the Seattle Marathon and Half Marathon. Split time information will be updated as available on the marathon page.

How are the races being timed?All timed events will be timed using embedded tag technology. Each participant is given a special, unique transponder that will be used to record your start and finish time. This disposable timing device is incorporated into each race bib and does not need to be returned after the race. All results are based on net/actual time (not gun time, as previously practiced). Each participant's time will start when they cross the start line. Split times on the marathon and half marathon courses will be also be recorded. In order to receive an accurate time, please confirm that throughout the race your bib is: Clearly visible on the front of the torso Unaltered and unmodified — Do not fold or wrinkle Pinned in all four corners Not covered by jackets, belts, water bottles, etc. Please note that kids races are un-timed. Virtual races are self-timed. You may use a tracking app, a watch or other timing method to record your time. Then use your Race Roster account to report your results.

May I use my Champion Chip?No. This race is timed using timing tags incorporated into each bib. The two systems are not compatible.

Can I bring my MP3 player?The use of headsets is highly discouraged but not outright prohibited at our events. As a member of the Road Runners Club of America (RRCA), we follow their guidelines on headset use. RRCA does not encourage headphone use during its member races but does not disallow them as long as they are used safely. For this reason, if you choose to use a headset on the course, you may be asked by a course official to remove them for safety reasons. You are required to comply or face disqualification and removal from the course.

Can I bring my bike/skates/skateboard?No. No wheels are allowed on the course except for registered wheelchairs and official course vehicles.

Can I bring my baby in a stroller/jogger?For the Summer 5K/10K, strollers are allowed and respectfully asked to start in the back of the queue for safety reasons. For the Marathon/Half Marathon, strollers are discouraged, but may be permitted to start in the back of the queue for safety reasons.

Can I bring my dog?For the Summer Events, dogs on leashes are allowed. Owners are responsible for any incidents involving their dogs. For the Marathon & Half Marathon, dogs are not allowed.

Can I bring my Nordic Walking Stick?Yes. Participants of the Marathon Walk and Half Marathon Walk are welcome to use walking sticks; however, please be courteous and mindful of participants around you.

Will the Boston Marathon check to confirm my time?Yes. They will use the finisher list we provide them to check the time you put on your Boston Marathon registration form. Results reported from virtual events cannot qualify for the Boston Marathon.

Can the Seattle Marathon be used as a Boston Qualifier?Yes. The Boston Marathon accepts qualifying times from the Seattle Marathon. For a list of qualifying times, see the Boston Athletic Association website. We will send a complete list of finishers to the BAA within a couple weeks after the race. Please keep in mind that the timing of available results of the Seattle Marathon and open registration for the Boston Marathon will influence which year you are eligible to apply for the Boston Marathon. Results reported from virtual events cannot qualify for the Boston Marathon.

The top 3 overall men, women, and non-binary participants will receive non-cash prize packages at the finish line. What is the online registration processing fee for?The processing fee is collected by our registration platform and covers their costs of operation and the credit card transaction cost.

What happens if the race is cancelled?The Race Organizer reserves the right to cancel or reschedule the Race should there be any Force Majeure (as defined below) conditions that arise. In the event of Race cancellation and/or rescheduling due to the Force Majeure, the Race Organizer has no obligation to refund the paid entry fees to the Participants, and shall not be held responsible for any Risks and Hazards that might happen due to the Race cancellation and/or reschedule. Please note that Force Majeure refers to circumstances or conditions such as war (whether stated or not), violence, social unrest, strikes, outbreaks, accidents, fires, floods, natural disasters, embargoes, legal reasons, or the actions of the government, and other similar events which may occur in the future, in which the Race Organizer has no ability to prevent. How are the races being timed?All timed events will be timed using embedded tag technology. Each participant is given a special, unique transponder that will be used to record your start and finish time. This disposable timing device is incorporated into each race bib and does not need to be returned after the race. All results are based on net/actual time (not gun time, as previously practiced). Each participant's time will start when they cross the start line. Split times on the marathon and half marathon courses will be also be recorded. In order to receive an accurate time, please confirm that throughout the race your bib is: Clearly visible on the front of the torso Unaltered and unmodified — Do not fold or wrinkle Pinned in all four corners Not covered by jackets, belts, water bottles, etc. Please note that kids races are un-timed. Virtual races are self-timed. You may use a tracking app, a watch or other timing method to record your time. Then use your Race Roster account to report your results.

May I use my Champion Chip?No. This race is timed using timing tags incorporated into each bib. The two systems are not compatible.

Can I bring my MP3 player?The use of headsets is highly discouraged but not outright prohibited at our events. As a member of the Road Runners Club of America (RRCA), we follow their guidelines on headset use. RRCA does not encourage headphone use during its member races but does not disallow them as long as they are used safely. For this reason, if you choose to use a headset on the course, you may be asked by a course official to remove them for safety reasons. You are required to comply or face disqualification and removal from the course.

Can I bring my bike/skates/skateboard?No. No wheels are allowed on the course except for registered wheelchairs and official course vehicles.

Can I bring my baby in a stroller/jogger?For the Summer 5K/10K, strollers are allowed and respectfully asked to start in the back of the queue for safety reasons. For the Marathon/Half Marathon, strollers are discouraged, but may be permitted to start in the back of the queue for safety reasons.

Can I bring my dog?For the Summer Events, dogs on leashes are allowed. Owners are responsible for any incidents involving their dogs. For the Marathon & Half Marathon, dogs are not allowed.

Can I bring my Nordic Walking Stick?Yes. Participants of the Marathon Walk and Half Marathon Walk are welcome to use walking sticks; however, please be courteous and mindful of participants around you.

Will the Boston Marathon check to confirm my time?Yes. They will use the finisher list we provide them to check the time you put on your Boston Marathon registration form. Results reported from virtual events cannot qualify for the Boston Marathon.

Can the Seattle Marathon be used as a Boston Qualifier?Yes. The Boston Marathon accepts qualifying times from the Seattle Marathon. For a list of qualifying times, see the Boston Athletic Association website. We will send a complete list of finishers to the BAA within a couple weeks after the race. Please keep in mind that the timing of available results of the Seattle Marathon and open registration for the Boston Marathon will influence which year you are eligible to apply for the Boston Marathon. Results reported from virtual events cannot qualify for the Boston Marathon.

What awards will be given out?Marathon/Half Marathon: All finishers will receive a medal corresponding to their race (full/half marathon). The top 3 overall men, women, and non-binary participants will receive non-cash prize packages at the finish line. This applies to in-person races only.​ The top Masters Man, Woman, Non-Binary and the top three active military men, women and non-binary will be given non-cash awards. Are miles and kilometers marked on the course?Marathon: Yes. Mile markers are placed on each course (either on portable toilets or on stand-alone signs. Select kilometer signs are not placed on the course this year. Summer 5k, 10k & Half Marathon: Mile markers only are placed on the course.

How long is the course open?The Marathon & Half Marathon event routes will be opened to vehicle traffic at 2:30pm. You may still finish the race by obeying all normal traffic laws for pedestrians after the course is opened to vehicle traffic, however there will be limited on-course aid stations, Course Marshals and police support at that point. Finish Line staff and essential services will remain until every athlete has completed the event. The Seattle Kids Marathon course will remain open and supported until all participants cross the finish line. The Summer 5k/10k/Half Marathon and Kids Fun Run courses will remain open until the last runner crosses the finish line.

What about parking?Marathon – Parking at Seattle Center: Here, Street Parking: You may be able to find some street parking in the Queen Anne area north of the Seattle Center. Summer Events: Limited parking is available in the lower lot of Seward Park near the start line. Additional parking is available in the upper lot a short walk from the start line.

Can I bring my MP3 player?The use of headsets is highly discouraged but not outright prohibited at our events. As a member of the Road Runners Club of America (RRCA), we follow their guidelines on headset use. RRCA does not encourage headphone use during its member races but does not disallow them as long as they are used safely. For this reason, if you choose to use a headset on the course, you may be asked by a course official to remove them for safety reasons. You are required to comply or face disqualification and removal from the course.

Are miles and kilometers marked on the course?Marathon: Yes. Mile markers are placed on each course (either on portable toilets or on stand-alone signs. Select kilometer signs are not placed on the course this year. Summer 5k, 10k & Half Marathon: Mile markers only are placed on the course.

How long is the course open?The Marathon & Half Marathon event routes will be opened to vehicle traffic at 2:30pm. You may still finish the race by obeying all normal traffic laws for pedestrians after the course is opened to vehicle traffic, however there will be limited on-course aid stations, Course Marshals and police support at that point. Finish Line staff and essential services will remain until every athlete has completed the event. The Seattle Kids Marathon course will remain open and supported until all participants cross the finish line. The Summer 5k/10k/Half Marathon and Kids Fun Run courses will remain open until the last runner crosses the finish line.

What about parking?Marathon – Parking at Seattle Center: Here, Street Parking: You may be able to find some street parking in the Queen Anne area north of the Seattle Center. What is a Virtual Race?A Virtual Race is a distance event that you run and time on your own. Typically, you'll choose your distance, your route and your race date and report your results through your Race Roster account. Virtual Race participants receive finisher medals, race souvenirs, course suggestions and other training supports, but do not receive official times, certified courses or day-of-race support.

What is the difference between running and walking events?All registrants may both run and/or walk as much as they’d like regardless of which race they are registered in. All registrants will receive an official time. However, only those registered as runners are eligible for awards.

What is the online registration processing fee for?The processing fee is collected by our registration platform and covers their costs of operation and the credit card transaction cost.

What happens if the race is cancelled?The Race Organizer reserves the right to cancel or reschedule the Race should there be any Force Majeure (as defined below) conditions that arise. In the event of Race cancellation and/or rescheduling due to the Force Majeure, the Race Organizer has no obligation to refund the paid entry fees to the Participants, and shall not be held responsible for any Risks and Hazards that might happen due to the Race cancellation and/or reschedule. Please note that Force Majeure refers to circumstances or conditions such as war (whether stated or not), violence, social unrest, strikes, outbreaks, accidents, fires, floods, natural disasters, embargoes, legal reasons, or the actions of the government, and other similar events which may occur in the future, in which the Race Organizer has no ability to prevent. Can I make changes to my registration after I register?Yes. From your Race Roster account, you can edit your registration and update your name, contact information, date of birth, address, gender, estimated finish time, participant shirt size, etc. If applicable, changing event category, or transferring can also be done in your Race Roster account.

Do you give awards to walkers?All walkers will receive the same finisher medal as registered runners. However, walking events are non-competitive and are not eligible for other awards. Registered walkers will still be timed.

Are miles and kilometers marked on the course?Marathon: Yes. Mile markers are placed on each course (either on portable toilets or on stand-alone signs. Select kilometer signs are not placed on the course this year. Summer 5k, 10k & Half Marathon: Mile markers only are placed on the course.

How long is the course open?The Marathon & Half Marathon event routes will be opened to vehicle traffic at 2:30pm. You may still finish the race by obeying all normal traffic laws for pedestrians after the course is opened to vehicle traffic, however there will be limited on-course aid stations, Course Marshals and police support at that point. Finish Line staff and essential services will remain until every athlete has completed the event. The Seattle Kids Marathon course will remain open and supported until all participants cross the finish line. The Summer 5k/10k/Half Marathon and Kids Fun Run courses will remain open until the last runner crosses the finish line.

What about parking?Marathon – Parking at Seattle Center: Here, Street Parking: You may be able to find some street parking in the Queen Anne area north of the Seattle Center. What is a Virtual Race?A Virtual Race is a distance event that you run and time on your own. Typically, you'll choose your distance, your route and your race date and report your results through your Race Roster account. Virtual Race participants receive finisher medals, race souvenirs, course suggestions and other training supports, but do not receive official times, certified courses or day-of-race support.

What is the difference between running and walking events?All registrants may both run and/or walk as much as they’d like regardless of which race they are registered in. All registrants will receive an official time. However, only those registered as runners are eligible for awards.

What is the online registration processing fee for?The processing fee is collected by our registration platform and covers their costs of operation and the credit card transaction cost.

What happens if the race is cancelled?The Race Organizer reserves the right to cancel or reschedule the Race should there be any Force Majeure (as defined below) conditions that arise. In the event of Race cancellation and/or rescheduling due to the Force Majeure, the Race Organizer has no obligation to refund the paid entry fees to the Participants, and shall not be held responsible for any Risks and Hazards that might happen due to the Race cancellation and/or reschedule. Please note that Force Majeure refers to circumstances or conditions such as war (whether stated or not), violence, social unrest, strikes, outbreaks, accidents, fires, floods, natural disasters, embargoes, legal reasons, or the actions of the government, and other similar events which may occur in the future, in which the Race Organizer has no ability to prevent. Events will take place rain or shine.

Can I make changes to my registration after I register?Yes. From your Race Roster account, you can edit your registration and update your name, contact information, date of birth, address, gender, estimated finish time, participant shirt size, etc. If applicable, changing event category, or transferring can also be done in your Race Roster account.

How are the races being timed?All timed events will be timed using embedded tag technology. Each participant is given a special, unique transponder that will be used to record your start and finish time. This disposable timing device is incorporated into each race bib and does not need to be returned after the race. All results are based on net/actual time (not gun time, as previously practiced). Each participant's time will start when they cross the start line. Split times on the marathon and half marathon courses will be also be recorded. In order to receive an accurate time, please confirm that throughout the race your bib is: Clearly visible on the front of the torso Unaltered and unmodified — Do not fold or wrinkle Pinned in all four corners Not covered by jackets, belts, water bottles, etc. Please note that kids races are un-timed. Virtual races are self-timed. You may use a tracking app, a watch or other timing method to record your time. Then use your Race Roster account to report your results.

May I use my Champion Chip?No. This race is timed using timing tags incorporated into each bib. The two systems are not compatible.

Can I bring my MP3 player?The use of headsets is highly discouraged but not outright prohibited at our events. As a member of the Road Runners Club of America (RRCA), we follow their guidelines on headset use. RRCA does not encourage headphone use during its member races but does not disallow them as long as they are used safely. For this reason, if you choose to use a headset on the course, you may be asked by a course official to remove them for safety reasons. You are required to comply or face disqualification and removal from the course.

Can I bring my bike/skates/skateboard?No. No wheels are allowed on the course except for registered wheelchairs and official course vehicles.

Can I bring my baby in a stroller/jogger?For the Summer 5K/10K, strollers are allowed and respectfully asked to start in the back of the queue for safety reasons. For the Marathon/Half Marathon, strollers are discouraged, but may be permitted to start in the back of the queue for safety reasons.

Can I bring my dog?For the Summer Events, dogs on leashes are allowed. Owners are responsible for any incidents involving their dogs. For the Marathon & Half Marathon, dogs are not allowed.

Can I bring my Nordic Walking Stick?Yes. Participants of the Marathon Walk and Half Marathon Walk are welcome to use walking sticks; however, please be courteous and mindful of participants around you.

Will the Boston Marathon check to confirm my time?Yes. They will use the finisher list we provide them to check the time you put on your Boston Marathon registration form. Results reported from virtual events cannot qualify for the Boston Marathon.

Can the Seattle Marathon be used as a Boston Qualifier?Yes. The Boston Marathon accepts qualifying times from the Seattle Marathon. For a list of qualifying times, see the Boston Athletic Association website. We will send a complete list of finishers to the BAA within a couple weeks after the race. Please keep in mind that the timing of available results of the Seattle Marathon and open registration for the Boston Marathon will influence which year you are eligible to apply for the Boston Marathon. What is a Virtual Race?A Virtual Race is a distance event that you run and time on your own. Typically, you'll choose your distance, your route and your race date and report your results through your Race Roster account. Virtual Race participants receive finisher medals, race souvenirs, course suggestions and other training supports, but do not receive official times, certified courses or day-of-race support.

What is the difference between running and walking events?All registrants may both run and/or walk as much as they’d like regardless of which race they are registered in. All registrants will receive an official time. However, only those registered as runners are eligible for awards.

What is the online registration processing fee for?The processing fee is collected by our registration platform and covers their costs of operation and the credit card transaction cost.

What happens if the race is cancelled?The Race Organizer reserves the right to cancel or reschedule the Race should there be any Force Majeure (as defined below) conditions that arise. In the event of Race cancellation and/or rescheduling due to the Force Majeure, the Race Organizer has no obligation to refund the paid entry fees to the Participants, and shall not be held responsible for any Risks and Hazards that might happen due to the Race cancellation and/or reschedule. Please note that Force Majeure refers to circumstances or conditions such as war (whether stated or not), violence, social unrest, strikes, outbreaks, accidents, fires, floods, natural disasters, embargoes, legal reasons, or the actions of the government, and other similar events which may occur in the future, in which the Race Organizer has no ability to prevent. Can I make changes to my registration after I register?Yes. From your Race Roster account, you can edit your registration and update your name, contact information, date of birth, address, gender, estimated finish time, participant shirt size, etc. If applicable, changing event category, or transferring can also be done in your Race Roster account.

Where are the split times recorded along the course?Split times are only recorded for the Seattle Marathon and Half Marathon. Split time information will be updated as available on the marathon page.

How are the races being timed?All timed events will be timed using embedded tag technology. Each participant is given a special, unique transponder that will be used to record your start and finish time. This disposable timing device is incorporated into each race bib and does not need to be returned after the race. All results are based on net/actual time (not gun time, as previously practiced). Each participant's time will start when they cross the start line. Split times on the marathon and half marathon courses will be also be recorded. In order to receive an accurate time, please confirm that throughout the race your bib is: Clearly visible on the front of the torso Unaltered and unmodified — Do not fold or wrinkle Pinned in all four corners Not covered by jackets, belts, water bottles, etc. Please note that kids races are un-timed. Virtual races are self-timed. You may use a tracking app, a watch or other timing method to record your time. Then use your Race Roster account to report your results.

May I use my Champion Chip?No. This race is timed using timing tags incorporated into each bib. The two systems are not compatible.

Can I bring my MP3 player?The use of headsets is highly discouraged but not outright prohibited at our events. As a member of the Road Runners Club of America (RRCA), we follow their guidelines on headset use. RRCA does not encourage headphone use during its member races but does not disallow them as long as they are used safely. For this reason, if you choose to use a headset on the course, you may be asked by a course official to remove them for safety reasons. You are required to comply or face disqualification and removal from the course.

Can I bring my bike/skates/skateboard?No. No wheels are allowed on the course except for registered wheelchairs and official course vehicles.

Can I bring my baby in a stroller/jogger?For the Summer 5K/10K, strollers are allowed and respectfully asked to start in the back of the queue for safety reasons. For the Marathon/Half Marathon, strollers are discouraged, but may be permitted to start in the back of the queue for safety reasons.

Can I bring my dog?For the Summer Events, dogs on leashes are allowed. Owners are responsible for any incidents involving their dogs. For the Marathon & Half Marathon, dogs are not allowed.

Can I bring my hydration vest?Yes. Hydration vests are allowed at all of our events.

Can I bring my Nordic Walking Stick?Yes. Participants of the Marathon Walk and Half Marathon Walk are welcome to use walking sticks; however, please be courteous and mindful of participants around you.

Will the Boston Marathon check to confirm my time?Yes. They will use the finisher list we provide them to check the time you put on your Boston Marathon registration form. Results reported from virtual events cannot qualify for the Boston Marathon.

Can the Seattle Marathon be used as a Boston Qualifier?Yes. The Boston Marathon accepts qualifying times from the Seattle Marathon. For a list of qualifying times, see the Boston Athletic Association website. We will send a complete list of finishers to the BAA within a couple weeks after the race. Please keep in mind that the timing of available results of the Seattle Marathon and open registration for the Boston Marathon will influence which year you are eligible to apply for the Boston Marathon. Results reported from virtual events cannot qualify for the Boston Marathon.

What awards will be given out?Marathon/Half Marathon: All finishers will receive a medal corresponding to their race (full/half marathon). The top 3 overall men, women, and non-binary participants will receive non-cash prize packages at the finish line. This applies to in-person races only.​ The top Masters Man, Woman, Non-Binary and the top three active military men, women and non-binary will be given non-cash awards. These awards will be mailed or emailed in the weeks following the race. This applies to in-person races only.​ Top 10 Age Division Awards in 5-year age groupings will be given. Are miles and kilometers marked on the course?Marathon: Yes. Mile markers are placed on each course (either on portable toilets or on stand-alone signs. Select kilometer signs are not placed on the course this year. Summer 5k, 10k & Half Marathon: Mile markers only are placed on the course.

How long is the course open?The Marathon & Half Marathon event routes will be opened to vehicle traffic at 2:30pm. You may still finish the race by obeying all normal traffic laws for pedestrians after the course is opened to vehicle traffic, however there will be limited on-course aid stations, Course Marshals and police support at that point. Finish Line staff and essential services will remain until every athlete has completed the event. The Seattle Kids Marathon course will remain open and supported until all participants cross the finish line. The Summer 5k/10k/Half Marathon and Kids Fun Run courses will remain open until the last runner crosses the finish line.

What about parking?Marathon – Parking at Seattle Center: Here, Street Parking: You may be able to find some street parking in the Queen Anne area north of the Seattle Center. Summer Events: Limited parking is available in the lower lot of Seward Park near the start line. Additional parking is available in the upper lot a short walk from the start line.

How are the races being timed?All timed events will be timed using embedded tag technology. Each participant is given a special, unique transponder that will be used to record your start and finish time. This disposable timing device is incorporated into each race bib and does not need to be returned after the race. All results are based on net/actual time (not gun time, as previously practiced). Each participant's time will start when they cross the start line. Split times on the marathon and half marathon courses will be also be recorded. In order to receive an accurate time, please confirm that throughout the race your bib is: Clearly visible on the front of the torso Unaltered and unmodified — Do not fold or wrinkle Pinned in all four corners Not covered by jackets, belts, water bottles, etc. Please note that kids races are un-timed. Virtual races are self-timed. You may use a tracking app, a watch or other timing method to record your time. Then use your Race Roster account to report your results.

Can I bring my MP3 player?The use of headsets is highly discouraged but not outright prohibited at our events. As a member of the Road Runners Club of America (RRCA), we follow their guidelines on headset use. RRCA does not encourage headphone use during its member races but does not disallow them as long as they are used safely. For this reason, if you choose to use a headset on the course, you may be asked by a course official to remove them for safety reasons. You are required to comply or face disqualification and removal from the course.

Can I bring my bike/skates/skateboard?No. No wheels are allowed on the course except for registered wheelchairs and official course vehicles.

Do you give awards to walkers?All walkers will receive the same finisher medal as registered runners. However, walking events are non-competitive and are not eligible for other awards. Registered walkers will still be timed.

Are miles and kilometers marked on the course?Marathon: Yes. Mile markers are placed on each course (either on portable toilets or on stand-alone signs. Select kilometer signs are not placed on the course this year. Summer 5k, 10k & Half Marathon: Mile markers only are placed on the course.

How long is the course open?The Marathon & Half Marathon event routes will be opened to vehicle traffic at 2:30pm. You may still finish the race by obeying all normal traffic laws for pedestrians after the course is opened to vehicle traffic, however there will be limited on-course aid stations, Course Marshals and police support at that point. Finish Line staff and essential services will remain until every athlete has completed the event. The Seattle Kids Marathon course will remain open and supported until all participants cross the finish line. The Summer 5k/10k/Half Marathon and Kids Fun Run courses will remain open until the last runner crosses the finish line.

What about parking?Marathon – Parking at Seattle Center: Here, Street Parking: You may be able to find some street parking in the Queen Anne area north of the Seattle Center. Summer Events: Limited parking is available in the lower lot of Seward Park near the start line. Additional parking is available in the upper lot a short walk from the start line.

What is a Virtual Race?A Virtual Race is a distance event that you run and time on your own. Typically, you'll choose your distance, your route and your race date and report your results through your Race Roster account. Virtual Race participants receive finisher medals, race souvenirs, course suggestions and other training supports, but do not receive official times, certified courses or day-of-race support.

What is the online registration processing fee for?The processing fee is collected by our registration platform and covers their costs of operation and the credit card transaction cost.

What happens if the race is cancelled?The Race Organizer reserves the right to cancel or reschedule the Race should there be any Force Majeure (as defined below) conditions that arise. In the event of Race cancellation and/or rescheduling due to the Force Majeure, the Race Organizer has no obligation to refund the paid entry fees to the Participants, and shall not be held responsible for any Risks and Hazards that might happen due to the Race cancellation and/or reschedule. Please note that Force Majeure refers to circumstances or conditions such as war (whether stated or not), violence, social unrest, strikes, outbreaks, accidents, fires, floods, natural disasters, embargoes, legal reasons, or the actions of the government, and other similar events which may occur in the future, in which the Race Organizer has no ability to prevent. How long is the course open?The Marathon & Half Marathon event routes will be opened to vehicle traffic at 2:30pm. You may still finish the race by obeying all normal traffic laws for pedestrians after the course is opened to vehicle traffic, however there will be limited on-course aid stations, Course Marshals and police support at that point. Finish Line staff and essential services will remain until every athlete has completed the event. The Seattle Kids Marathon course will remain open and supported until all participants cross the finish line. The Summer 5k/10k/Half Marathon and Kids Fun Run courses will remain open until the last runner crosses the finish line.

What is a Virtual Race?A Virtual Race is a distance event that you run and time on your own. Typically, you'll choose your distance, your route and your race date and report your results through your Race Roster account. Virtual Race participants receive finisher medals, race souvenirs, course suggestions and other training supports, but do not receive official times, certified courses or day-of-race support.

What is the difference between running and walking events?All registrants may both run and/or walk as much as they’d like regardless of which race they are registered in. All registrants will receive an official time. However, only those registered as runners are eligible for awards.

Do you offer comped entries for elite athletes?We offer comped entries for in-person events for athletes who can prove qualifying times within the last 2 years. Please note that we only offer complimentary registration and do not cover any transportation, lodging, food or visa fees. We do not offer comped entry for virtual events. What is the online registration processing fee for?The processing fee is collected by our registration platform and covers their costs of operation and the credit card transaction cost.

What happens if the race is cancelled?The Race Organizer reserves the right to cancel or reschedule the Race should there be any Force Majeure (as defined below) conditions that arise. In the event of Race cancellation and/or rescheduling due to the Force Majeure, the Race Organizer has no obligation to refund the paid entry fees to the Participants, and shall not be held responsible for any Risks and Hazards that might happen due to the Race cancellation and/or reschedule. Please note that Force Majeure refers to circumstances or conditions such as war (whether stated or not), violence, social unrest, strikes, outbreaks, accidents, fires, floods, natural disasters, embargoes, legal reasons, or the actions of the government, and other similar events which may occur in the future, in which the Race Organizer has no ability to prevent. Events will take place rain or shine.

Can I make changes to my registration after I register?Yes. From your Race Roster account, you can edit your registration and update your name, contact information, date of birth, address, gender, estimated finish time, participant shirt size, etc. If applicable, changing event category, or transferring can also be done in your Race Roster account.

How are the races being timed?All timed events will be timed using embedded tag technology. Each participant is given a special, unique transponder that will be used to record your start and finish time. This disposable timing device is incorporated into each race bib and does not need to be returned after the race. All results are based on net/actual time (not gun time, as previously practiced). Each participant's time will start when they cross the start line. Split times on the marathon and half marathon courses will be also be recorded. In order to receive an accurate time, please confirm that throughout the race your bib is: Clearly visible on the front of the torso Unaltered and unmodified — Do not fold or wrinkle Pinned in all four corners Not covered by jackets, belts, water bottles, etc. Please note that kids races are un-timed. Virtual races are self-timed. You may use a tracking app, a watch or other timing method to record your time. Then use your Race Roster account to report your results.

May I use my Champion Chip?No. This race is timed using timing tags incorporated into each bib. The two systems are not compatible.

Can I bring my MP3 player?The use of headsets is highly discouraged but not outright prohibited at our events. As a member of the Road Runners Club of America (RRCA), we follow their guidelines on headset use. RRCA does not encourage headphone use during its member races but does not disallow them as long as they are used safely. For this reason, if you choose to use a headset on the course, you may be asked by a course official to remove them for safety reasons. You are required to comply or face disqualification and removal from the course.

Can I bring my bike/skates/skateboard?No. No wheels are allowed on the course except for registered wheelchairs and official course vehicles.

Can I bring my baby in a stroller/jogger?For the Summer 5K/10K, strollers are allowed and respectfully asked to start in the back of the queue for safety reasons. For the Marathon/Half Marathon, strollers are discouraged, but may be permitted to start in the back of the queue for safety reasons.

Can I bring my dog?For the Summer Events, dogs on leashes are allowed. Owners are responsible for any incidents involving their dogs. For the Marathon & Half Marathon, dogs are not allowed.

Can I bring my Nordic Walking Stick?Yes. Participants of the Marathon Walk and Half Marathon Walk are welcome to use walking sticks; however, please be courteous and mindful of participants around you.

Will the Boston Marathon check to confirm my time?Yes. They will use the finisher list we provide them to check the time you put on your Boston Marathon registration form. Results reported from virtual events cannot qualify for the Boston Marathon.

Can the Seattle Marathon be used as a Boston Qualifier?Yes. The Boston Marathon accepts qualifying times from the Seattle Marathon. For a list of qualifying times, see the Boston Athletic Association website. We will send a complete list of finishers to the BAA within a couple weeks after the race. Please keep in mind that the timing of available results of the Seattle Marathon and open registration for the Boston Marathon will influence which year you are eligible to apply for the Boston Marathon. Results reported from virtual events cannot qualify for the Boston Marathon.

What is a Virtual Race?A Virtual Race is a distance event that you run and time on your own. Typically, you'll choose your distance, your route and your race date and report your results through your Race Roster account. Virtual Race participants receive finisher medals, race souvenirs, course suggestions and other training supports, but do not receive official times, certified courses or day-of-race support.

What is the difference between running and walking events?All registrants may both run and/or walk as much as they’d like regardless of which race they are registered in. All registrants will receive an official time. However, only those registered as runners are eligible for awards.

Can I transfer my registration to another person?Yes, you can transfer your registration to another person. New registrant will be asked to pay a $10 fee. To initiate a transfer log into your Race Roster account and click transfer.

Do you offer comped entries for elite athletes?We offer comped entries for in-person events for athletes who can prove qualifying times within the last 2 years. Please note that we only offer complimentary registration and do not cover any transportation, lodging, food or visa fees. We do not offer comped entry for virtual events. What is the online registration processing fee for?The processing fee is collected by our registration platform and covers their costs of operation and the credit card transaction cost.

What happens if the race is cancelled?The Race Organizer reserves the right to cancel or reschedule the Race should there be any Force Majeure (as defined below) conditions that arise. In the event of Race cancellation and/or rescheduling due to the Force Majeure, the Race Organizer has no obligation to refund the paid entry fees to the Participants, and shall not be held responsible for any Risks and Hazards that might happen due to the Race cancellation and/or reschedule. Please note that Force Majeure refers to circumstances or conditions such as war (whether stated or not), violence, social unrest, strikes, outbreaks, accidents, fires, floods, natural disasters, embargoes, legal reasons, or the actions of the government, and other similar events which may occur in the future, in which the Race Organizer has no ability to prevent. Events will take place rain or shine.

Can I make changes to my registration after I register?Yes. From your Race Roster account, you can edit your registration and update your name, contact information, date of birth, address, gender, estimated finish time, participant shirt size, etc. If applicable, changing event category, or transferring can also be done in your Race Roster account.

I see that I’m registered, how do I get a confirmation emailed to me?You must sign into your race roster account and choose the event you are registered for. On your event detail page you can click on a link with your confirmation number.

Do I have to register online?Yes, we are not accepting paper registrations at this time for marathon/half marathon, summer and virtual events. However, some teachers/schools may hand out paper registration forms for the Seattle Kids Marathon.

How will I get my results?Marathon/Half Marathon: Your results will be accessible through your registration profile immediately following the race. The Seattle Marathon website will post results within 24 hours of the race. The official Results Issue will be published 2-3 weeks after the race. Where are the split times recorded along the course?Split times are only recorded for the Seattle Marathon and Half Marathon. Split time information will be updated as available on the marathon page.

How are the races being timed?All timed events will be timed using embedded tag technology. Each participant is given a special, unique transponder that will be used to record your start and finish time. This disposable timing device is incorporated into each race bib and does not need to be returned after the race. All results are based on net/actual time (not gun time, as previously practiced). Each participant's time will start when they cross the start line. Split times on the marathon and half marathon courses will be also be recorded. In order to receive an accurate time, please confirm that throughout the race your bib is: Clearly visible on the front of the torso Unaltered and unmodified — Do not fold or wrinkle Pinned in all four corners Not covered by jackets, belts, water bottles, etc. Please note that kids races are un-timed. Virtual races are self-timed. You may use a tracking app, a watch or other timing method to record your time. Then use your Race Roster account to report your results.

May I use my Champion Chip?No. This race is timed using timing tags incorporated into each bib. The two systems are not compatible.
